About Us
Smart preschool and nursery was officially opened in
December 2016 and accredited to organize and implement an overall developmental
program in education issued by the relevant Ministry of Education of Canton
Sarajevo. It is one of the first in the region to apply the “Reggio Emilia”
approach to the education of preschool children.
This program is based on the principles of
respect, responsibility and communion, through searching and discovering things
in a supporting and enriching environment based on child’s interests.
Our goal is to implement the highest educational
and developmental standards together with our full commitment to children’s
happiness and wellbeing.
Our stuff consists of well-trained professionals
and teachers fluent in Bosnian, English and German embracing extraordinary
pedagogical skills and great enthusiasm for learning.
Smart Groups
1.
Smart Nursery (1 to 3 years)
At this age there is as special focus on social
and emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, language development,
independence. They follow the weekly curriculum with themes such as animals,
seasons, nursery plays and much more. The youngest children enjoy indoor and
outdoor play, healthy meals and nap time.
2.
Smart
Preschool: (3 to 6
years)
Our preschool program follows the Reggio Emilia
pedagogy and is centered on developing communication and language, early
literacy, mathematics, art and design, science, geography and understanding the
world.
This program encourages children to be curious
learners, helpful, confident developing good social, emotional and motor
skills. Our children enjoy specially designed Reggio Emilia materials, arts and
craft and recycling workshops, cooking classes, sports, book club, dance and
movement, science experiments, field trips, birthday parties and much more.
Smart Space
Smart is located in a building designed and
constructed especially for preschool education. The building has approximately
1,500 square meters (not including the open terraces of about 400m2).
The building includes a garage, four floors connected by staircases and a panoramic elevator, and open spaces especially designed for maximum safety of the children. The overall space is transparent and radiant, with playful windows. The toilets are specially adjusted to the age of each group, there is a wardrobe, a gym, a number of technical and service rooms for the stuff, a room for the pediatrician and the nurse, etc.

Smart
Nutrition
We
have dedicated special attention to our children’s nutrition. Storage and
preparation of food is carried out in accordance with the standards of the
modern professional cuisine. The quality of meals is guaranteed by a team that
includes a cook, a nutritionist and kitchen assistants and all this is
supervised by our chef. Our daily meals
include: breakfast (9:00), snack (10:30), lunch (12:00), snack (15:00), snack
for nursery (16:30), snack (17:30).

Smart Safety
We have dedicated special attention
to the safety of the building for the purpose of maximum protection of our
children whose interests are always in the first place.
It is important to highlight that everyday activities take place only within the protected area of our facilities, and that unnoticed entry or access to children from the outside is not possible.
The building is guarded 24 hours a day – which includes a security guard and video surveillance, alarm/intervention, fire protection and anti theft system.
